Our Faith and Beliefs

At Branford Baptist Church, we are a community of believers united in faith, hope, and love. We welcome all who seek to know God better and to grow in their spiritual journey. As Baptists, our faith is rooted in several core beliefs that guide our worship and community life:

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word, the ultimate authority for faith and practice. We encourage personal Bible study and thoughtful interpretation of Scripture.

We believe salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone. This personal relationship with Christ is a gift of grace that cannot be earned through good works. We practice baptism by full immersion for those who have made a personal decision to follow Christ. This symbolic act represents dying to sin and rising to new life in Christ.

The Priesthood of All Believers

We believe every Christian has direct access to God through prayer and can interpret Scripture with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Every member is a minister in their own way.

Church Autonomy

Each Baptist church is self-governing, making decisions through democratic processes. We value our freedom to respond to God's leading without external control.

Religious Freedom

We strongly advocate for religious liberty for all people, believing that faith cannot be coerced and that all should have the freedom to worship according to their conscience.

Community of Faith

We are committed to building a loving church family that supports one another, grows together in faith, and reaches out to serve our wider community.

Our Mission

We seek to:

  • Share the good news of Jesus Christ
  • Nurture spiritual growth through Bible study and prayer
  • Support one another in life's journey
  • Serve our community with compassion and love
  • Promote justice, peace, and reconciliation in our world
